Getting started
Relate is a private relationship journal. After installing the app, you can begin with a short reflection on how your relationship feels today. There is nothing to set up before your first entry — just take a few minutes and capture what feels worth remembering.
Relate is designed for personal reflection. It is not a dating app, a shared messaging app, couples therapy, or a replacement for professional support.
Using daily reflections
- Open Relate and start a reflection whenever it suits you — daily, or as often as feels right.
- Check in with how your relationship felt, then add a note if something stands out.
- Capture positive moments, difficult moments, or both. Short entries are perfectly fine.
- You decide what to record. Relate never requires you to write more than you want to.
History and insights
Your History shows the reflections and moments you've saved, so you can look back over time. Insights build on your own entries to highlight recurring themes — for example what tends to bring you closer or create friction.
Insights become more meaningful as you add more reflections. If your Insights look sparse, that usually means there aren't many entries yet.
Notifications and reminders
Relate can send an optional reminder to reflect. Reminders are entirely up to you and can be turned on, adjusted or turned off in the app's settings. You can also manage Relate's notification permission in your device's system settings.
Account and privacy
Relate is built around private personal reflection, not public sharing. There is no social feed and your reflections are not shown to other users. For details about how information is handled, please read our Privacy Policy.
If you have a question about your account, your data, or would like to request deletion, contact us using the details below and we'll help.
Troubleshooting
- The app won't open or feels slow: close Relate fully, then reopen it. If the issue continues, restart your device and make sure you're on the latest version of the app.
- Reminders aren't arriving: check that notifications for Relate are allowed in your device settings, and that a reminder time is set in the app.
- Something looks wrong on screen: update to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play once available.
- Still stuck? Email us with your device model, operating system version and a short description of what happened.
Contact support
We read every message. Include as much detail as you can — device, OS version, and what you expected to happen — and we'll get back to you as soon as we're able.
