Delete your account in the app
Account deletion is built into Relate. Open the app and go to Settings — there you'll find the option to delete your account. You don't need to email us first to start the process.
For your safety, the app may ask you to sign in again before it continues. That step confirms the request comes from the account owner. Once you confirm, your account is deleted and this cannot be undone.
What is deleted
Deleting your account removes:
- Your Relate sign-in account (the Firebase Authentication account that lets you log in).
- Your user profile.
- Your personal reflections.
- Your weekly check-ins.
- Your AI Coach conversations.
Anything you want to keep, save before you delete — once the account is gone, this content can't be restored.
What may remain
The in-app deletion does not remove everything connected to you. These are handled separately, so please ask us about them if you want them dealt with:
- Community content: your posts, comments and other Community data are not deleted automatically by the in-app deletion.
- Analytics history: usage data collected through Firebase Analytics is not demonstrably removed by the in-app deletion.
- Subscription records: data held by RevenueCat about your subscription is not demonstrably removed by the in-app deletion.
We may also keep records where we are legally required or permitted to do so — for example accounting and tax records, or records needed to prevent fraud or abuse. We keep such records only for as long as the relevant legal or other legitimate requirement lasts, and we do not keep them once that requirement ends.
Data left behind? Contact support
If data that is not removed by the in-app deletion is still connected to you, send a request to support@relateinsights.com and we'll handle it. This is the same contact address listed on our Support page.
Please write from the email address associated with your Relate account, so we can confirm the request comes from the account owner. Tell us which data you'd like removed — for example specific Community posts or comments. If you no longer have access to that address, say so and we'll let you know what we need to verify your identity.
Cancel your subscription separately
Deleting your Relate account does not end a subscription you bought through an app store. If you subscribed to Relate, cancel it in the store you bought it from:
- Apple App Store: open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and select Relate to cancel.
- Google Play: open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, and select Relate to cancel.
Refunds and billing questions are handled by Apple and Google under their own terms. We can't cancel or refund a store subscription for you, but we're happy to point you in the right direction.
Before you delete
Deleting your account removes your reflections, check-ins and AI Coach conversations, and this cannot be undone. If you'd like to keep a copy first, review your History in the app and save anything you want to keep before you confirm deletion.
If you're taking a break rather than leaving for good, turning off reminders in the app's settings — or deleting individual entries — may be enough.
Questions
If you're not sure what deletion would cover in your case, or you'd like to exercise another right such as access or correction, email us first at support@relateinsights.com and we'll explain your options. You can also read our Privacy Policy or Terms of Use.
